Discord Port Forwarding

Discord has quickly become one of the most popular VoIP apps on the market. It is a cross-platform text and video chat app designed specifically for gamers. Nearly 250 million users use Discord while playing thousands of multiplayer games online. However, despite its numerous benefits, you may not always be able to enjoy these services at their maximum capabilities. The most common reason for this is the series of routers, gateways, and intermediary devices connected to your internet connection which are blocking your internet traffic.

How To Forward Ports

Follow these steps to set up port forwarding:

  • Enter your router’s IP address in any web browser’s address bar. Log in with admin credentials.
  • Scroll down and locate the port forwarding section. It is usually located under Advanced or NAT settings on Netgear, TP-Link, and Asus routers.
  • Add a port forwarding entry. (Enter the IP Address of your device, such as your phone.)
  • Now enter “5050” for both starting and ending ports. Remember to tick “UDP” for each port.
  • Save this entry and reboot your router for the changes to take effect.
